In the light of the above context as an Engineer his knowledge and experiences have been illustrated in the following paragraphs:

Project Manager of the Participatory Small-Scale Water Resources Sector Project (PSSWRSP) funded by the Asian Development Bank and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) (January 2010-June 2018). Under the Project, Project Implementation Consultant (PIC) for overall project management support and capacity building of LGED, 10 consulting firms for feasibility study and detailed design (FSDD) of subprojects, 10 firm/NGO for conducting Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA), Implementing NGO (INGO) to provide support services related to Involuntary Resettlement, and one NGO to support the local people to organize themselves to form Water Management Cooperative Associations were procured following Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) ‘Guidelines on the Use of Consultants by Asian Development Bank and Its Borrowers’. Similarly, goods and works procurement were done following ADB’s ‘Guidelines for goods and works procurement. The Project has a highly participatory and decentralized design to enhance agricultural productivity and sustainability in subproject areas to reduce poverty incidence, generate incremental incomes from agricultural production, and improve social indicators of rural water users and vulnerable groups within a supportive and responsive institutional framework where the local people plays a vital role in each stage of the project development cycle and their participation is formalized through forming a Water Management Cooperative Association (WMCA) in each subproject.

Water resources planning and design engineer (Executive Engineer) of the First and the Second Small Scale Water Resources Development Sector Project funded by the Asian Development Bank and Government of the Netherlands (1996-2002, 2002-2010). Took the lead role in the procurement of goods, works, and consulting services procurement under the Projects.

7. Md. Zahangir Alam

Md. Zahangir Alam obtained his Master of  Engineering (Civil) from Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology (DUET), Gazipur, Bangladesh in 2007 and Graduate in Engineering (Civil) from Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET), Rajshahi, Bangladesh in 1986. He has 30 years of professional working experience in the fields of water supply & sanitation, infrastructure improvement and water resource sector projects with reputed national / international organizations in various capacities both at home and abroad (Afghanistan and Tajikistan). Brief abilities of Md. Zahangir Alam are listed below: 

  • Investigation, data collection, analysis; plan, coordination, management and implementation of water supply projects;

Dr. Md. Abdul Mojid is a well-recognized water resource management specialist in the field of agricultural water management in Bangladesh. He has obtained PhD in Water Resource Engineering in 1996 from the University of Newcastle, UK and M.Sc. in Irrigation and Water Resource Management in 1988 from the Bangladesh Agricultural University. He obtained B.Sc. Ag. Eng. (major field: Irrigation and Water Management) in 1985. He also did three post doctorates: two in Japan and one in Germany. Brief abilities of Dr. Mojid are listed below:

During the tenure of 5 years of active service life he has formulated, supervised and successfully implemented several Engineering and development projects.
